About Project STAR
The site was established on October 14th 2007. The name Project Star was chosen because well, I like stars. Once upon a time, 'Star' was even my web alias. It's a fairly simple name and isn't one of those overused 'cute' and/or 'ethereal' names. I don't have anything against those names, they're just too common for my liking.
Even though this is a premade layouts site which caters for visitors, I was motivated to create the site purely for myself. What I wanted was essentially a 'design playground'. A site that I can design without the limitation of a particular purpose for the layout. Or it could work the other way - a site forcing me to design multipurpose layouts with proper navigation and such which I failed to achieve with most of my fanlistings. I can't say that I don't care at all about helping people or want to raise the standards of graphics sites but they're not the reasons why this site exists today.
My strange logic isn't supposed to make sense to everyone so don't fuss if you didn't understand any of what I've just written.
Collections what?
I like being different. I didn't want a site that blends in with the 235325 other graphics sites out there. What I've decided to do is create premade layout 'collections'. Each collection will have a theme which all layouts in it need to comply with. What I like about these 'collections' is that they give me a clear idea of what to design with each layout. If anything, it provides a better way of organising the layouts rather than by type where the pages would be unbalanced (because personally, I'm more inclined to design Divs rather than Frames or Tables).
All collections will have no more than 12 layouts to keep things organised. I may put up 'part 2' of a collection should I wish to go over the 12 limit. I'm very happy to take in any suggestions for themes. You can send them along through the contact page. Should I like and use your theme idea, you'll be credited on the collection page once it's up :)
